Sherlock
This successful BBC franchise has propelled Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch to international stardom, and I can confidently say (after having rewatched the series a few times) that they deserve it.
Before you delve into the Sherlock fandom, you should first be informed that there is a huge focus on homosexual subtext that is apparently taking place between Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson. The Johnlock ship rules the fandom, and people I am close to are on board. Personally, I can't see it; it just seems like the best bromance you could ever have. But apparently this is what the Internet does and wants:
From a cinematographic point of view, this show is very well put together. The graphics are cold and crisp, almost reflecting the aura of London. Because the show only airs three episodes every two years, Sherlock fans are currently suffering from serious angst, and it doesn't seem like they'll be letting up anytime soon. I know the truth, though; Sherlock fans are like crack addicts. As soon as the three episodes are over and the hit wears off, they'll be biting and scratching themselves until Moffat musters whatever would be closest to kindness he has in the black pit excuse of a heart he possesses and announces that there will be new episodes.
In other words, watch it. Also, Benedict Cumberbatch's cheekbones.
