Supernatural
This fabulous series starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as brothers Sam and Dean Winchester is TV gold. It's nice to have a TV show that actually scares you once in awhile.
Sam and Dean's mother was killed by a demon when they were both very young, and so their father, hoping to kill the demon, raised his sons to be hunters. Sam tried to have a normal life at college, but his girlfriend is murdered by the same demon, so he rejoins his brother and goes on the road.
So what is it they do, exactly? In Dean's own words:
"Saving people, hunting things, the family business."
Later on in the series, we get a new main character; a socially awkward angel named Castiel, Cas for short, played by Misha Collins. Let's get something straight about Misha Collins; he is a troll. He is eccentric, he is free-spirited, he is OUT THERE.
While people were waiting in line outside for a Supernatural keynote, he decided to go jogging and try to pass off as a normal jogger. Well, he was quickly spotted (and chased) by some Castiel cosplayers. And you can see the gleeful look on his face as he runs away. Oh, Misha.
Let's not even dwell on the fact that he temporarily put his telephone number on Twitter so that his fans could call or text him.
The gag reels for this show are more stupendous than they should be. Also, while some shows might graze the 4th wall, Supernatural does not break the 4th wall.
They frickin' OBLITERATE the 4th wall; there is an episode where they visit the set of Gilmore Girls (another TV show Jared Padalecki starred in), an episode where Sam and Dean go to a Supernatural convention, and there is the one in Season 6. Episode 15. The Motherlode.
Sam and Dean are sent by an angel into a parallel universe where they are two actors named Jared and Jensen filming a show called Supernatural.
I rest my case; go ahead trying to make sense of it. The show's still good, though.
